The Downtown Beattyville Alliance and the Beattyville/Lee County Tourism Commission hosts a “Locally Made” market event showcasing the talents of local artisans who handcraft products in Beattyville/Lee County. Farmers also set up and sell homegrown garden produce, plants, flowers and more! The event also showcases local talent onstage at the Woolly Worm Park followed by clogging and dancing under the lights! You can expect handcrafted seasonal pallet decorations, handcrafted and refinished furniture, handmade quilts, 14×19 key holders made from pallets, crocheted crafts, charcoal pencil drawings, vegan soap, milk soap, scrubs, hand & lip balms and more, railroad photography, greenhouse items, flowers, fresh produce, live local music.
Beattyville Lee County neighbors Natural Bridge State Park. We work through our tourism commission as a regional partner to target the thousands of visitors coming to that area. Our Downtown Beattyville Alliance is committed to providing the leadership, resources and drive to develop a vibrant community. We work with existing business to help promote our Main Street. We feel our community has a lot to offer. We are “Home of the Woolly Worm Festival” and “Birthplace of the Kentucky River!” We are just 20 minutes south of the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park. Our small river community has a large heart and great southern hospitality. We have a number of attractions and activities. You can enjoy outdoor adventures, cabin rentals, historical sites, festivals and local events. We hope to develop our Main Street and fill it full of local craft shops, eateries and a destination for tourist to come visit.
